As Charlie and Alison arrive back at Charlie's, Charlie comments that poor Mary looked terrified. Alison snaps, ""How would you be if they'd taken you in for questioning?"" Charlie admits that she'd be a mess. Alison mutters that she just wishes there was something she could do; if Mary hadn't gone to see Roger again, none of this would have happened. She adds, ""It's all Wayne's fault: he should have kept a closer watch on her."" Looking surprised, Charlie tells her to be fair: it's impossible to keep tabs on someone 24 hours a day.
