Spider talks Linda's landlord into renting her old bedsit at Flat 3, 6 Arnica Street to him. Maxine is amazed when Doreen tells her that she's left her father because he bores her. She wants to feel young and free again. Maxine can't cope with the news. Toyah is thrilled that she and Spider finally have a place of their own. Spider realises he'll have to get a job. Maxine is stunned to find Tom entertaining Melanie in his bedroom. She feels the world is going insane. Sharon rows with Natalie in the Rovers after she tells Rita that Sharon is seeing Ian again. Sharon accuses her of being jealous because men only want her for sex. The attack upsets Natalie.
