Norris decides to conduct a séance to see off the ghost of Vera Lomax but when the candles start to flicker and everybody hears a thump things start to get a bit surreal! Roy surprises Hayley with a special dinner when news of his and Tracy's annulment papers come through. Charlie gets comfy in the Rovers but when Fred catches him helping himself to beers in the back, he warns Shelley not to let her personal life get in the way of how she runs the pub. Fred reminds her that they've already lost one good barmaid in such circumstances . . . he tells her that he wants their staffing problems solved by the time he gets back from a Newton and Ridley meeting . . . Dev gets an urgent call from the health center. They inform him that they need to run more tests because they suspect that he's got bowel cancer! Later, Dev can't bring himself to tell Maya and so instead confides in Sunita. Sunita, later, breaks down in private.
