Mevrouw Pepermans, diensthoofd van de winkeldetectives van een grootwarenhuisketen, vraagt Interflix haar personeel te testen. De opdracht luidt: goederen stelen zonder door de detectives gesnapt te worden. Met de hulp van Van Hopplynus klaart Haantjes de klus. Ook commissaris Van Pass wil meehelpen. Maar dan loopt het mis.
