In the library of a village in Southern France a young girl unlocks the clasp on an ancient sealed book then disappears. At Torrington Academy Diana bets the sloppy Martin that he can't stay clean for 24 hours, the loser to give Java a foot massage and caveman have very smelly feet. Martin, Diana and Java are paged and use the warpgate hidden in cafeteria's fridge to transport to The Centre where they are briefed by Director M.O.M. then transported to France by Billy just in time to see another child disappear. Martin realizes the monster is a boogeyman who is carrying off naughty children to his own swamplike dimension. Encouraging other kids to run wild and attract the boogey man Martin uses the gateway it opens to enter its world with Diana and Java and rescue the missing children. Returning to the real world they seal the boogeyman back in the magic book which is taken into Centre custody by M.O.M. and Billy. The 24 hours are up and despite all the swamps and ooze amazingly M
