Mister Rogers' Neighborhood - 16x14 Celebrations: Happy Birthday, Henrietta!

Mister Rogers arrives with a cake that is not quite finished. With the words "I celebrate" already on the cake, he adds the word "you." After adding a few candles to the cake and mentioning that it is unsafe for children to use matches, Mister Rogers sings a new Happy Birthday song. After singing, he shares a film about how people make candles.

In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, dawn is about to break as Purple Panda and King Friday are at the castle eagerly awaiting the arrival of Friday's Comet. Others arrive just in time to see the comet pass by, dropping a note by parachute as it goes overhead. The note addresses King Friday and states: "I belong to you AND to everyone else in the world. No one can own the stars, the moon, the planets or a comet. No one owns you, King Friday. No one owns your son, Prince Tuesday. Not even you. And no one owns us. We heavenly bodies are for everyone to celebrate. Thanks for the royal welcome. I'll be back next time." A slightly speechless King Friday has learned an important lesson from the comet's note.

Neighbor Aber arrives at the castle and Lady Elaine mentions Henrietta's upcoming birthday. Mr. Aber sings the new birthday song which he has prepared for Henrietta. Before heading to the surprise party, Queen Sara commends her husband for turning a disappointing experience into a positive learning experience.

At the tree, Henrietta is invited by Neighbor Aber to come to the Museum-Go-Round for a breakfast party. Quickly changing into a fancy dress, Henrietta is taken to the Museum where she a surpirse party is waiting. Feeling much happier knowing that everyone remembered her birthday, Henrietta is given gifts, sung a song, and presented with a birthday cake. But the biggest surprise of all is the arrival of Reardon who shares that a new opera is being planned in her honor.
