Ambushed by restless natives while collecting lifeform samples on the planet Kadix, the Astro Megaship crash lands, causing a secret room to open up. Inside it, the Rangers find the frozen body of Zhane, Andros' best friend and former teammate, the Silver Ranger, left in a coma for many years after falling in battle on KO-35. As the Megaship comes under attack by both the Kadix natives and the recently hatched monster called Lunatick, power fails, leading to Zhane's life support chamber shutting down.
