Regisseur Nahid Persson ontvluchtte 17 jaar geleden Iran. Toen zij enkele jaren geleden Iran weer bezocht, was zij verbijsterd over de chaos in haar land, de wijdverspreide prostitutie en het immense drugsgebruik. In haar film Tippelen in Teheran volgt zij twee vrouwen, Minna en Fariba, beiden prostituee en drugsverslaafd, in hun dagelijkse leven.
