Watching The Monkees hop on the hot beach in their bare feet, Luther Kramm, Hollywood producer-director, decides they are typical teenagers and hires them as extras for his new beach movie, I Married A Creature From Out Of Town, which, as Kramm explains, is "a message picture, and the message is: if we don't finish it in 10 days we're in trouble!" Squelching his fawning assistant Philo, Kramm goes to work on the film starring a bevy of beauties and teen idol Frankie Catalina, a hapless, hopeless, narcissistic deadbeat who couldn't sing, feared the ocean, was allergic to girls, and resorted to reading lines from cuecards.
