[George Schlick / Richard Stilgoe / Geoff Hoyle]

Paul starts the show with his usual mirth, appearing to pass a flaming poker through someone's arm. This week's 'Bunco Booth' section involves a nobbled bike of the type seen at fetes, and then it's back to the host, this time performing a trick with some old magic props from his collection. A character named Mr. Sniff continually sabotages Paul's 'Triple Trunk Mystery' before tonight's guest act, George Schlick, is introduced. A very clever and technically superb performance is provided by the ventriloquist, and then it's time for the final illusion. An apparently random Scrabble word created by broadcaster, lyricist, knight and all round wordsmith, Richard Stilgoe is reproduced on what was a blank blackboard, as audience members look on.
