This was a great episode. Solid writing and acts as a showcase for Annabeth Gish.

@Sandrosaurus I wholeheartedly agree with you. Seeing a lot less of Mulder was weird, and of course the lack of Cancer Man was fairly enfuriating (especially with him being my favourite character on the show), and it's undeniable that the stand-alone episodes are weaker these seasons, but it's just ridiculous when people say how horrible they are. Doggett and Reyes are wonderful and fitting additions to the show, and the plot has not wavered at all in my opinion. I am in the camp that would defend S7 as better than a few of the seasons, as I very much enjoyed the Closure episodes and the season finale especially (and I found the stand alones to be fairly strong still). For me, seasons 3-6 were the best, followed by 7-9 as a group and then 1 and 2. But I clearly haven't put enormous thought into as evidenced by the incomplete ranking.

@kenneththepage I'm with you. S8 is in my top 4 but S9 is a bit less. S1 and S7 are in my opinion the worst seasons...S8 and 9 are just underrating because of no Mulder, new intro, lesser Scully, underrated Dogget/Reyes, no cancer man and the feeling of reboot. Kind of a shame if you ask me :(
