In het appartement van Tom Segers wordt tevergeefs gezocht naar bewijzen in verband met de verdwijning van Gwennie. Het kruisverhoor van de hoofdinspecteur levert evenmin resultaat op. Feit is dat Tom veroordeeld is tot kantoorwerk zolang het intern onderzoek loopt en dat het team van Zone Stad door de zaak in twee kampen is verdeeld. Dani moet samen met commissaris Wim een ogenschijnlijk vluchtmisdrijf onderzoeken.
