Sally dumps the girls on Kevin for the day, reminding him that he wanted access, but is furious because Natalie takes them out in order that he can continue working. Angie takes Leanne on as a cleaner at the factory when Janice begs her to but it is only for a trial period. Toyah gets drunk with two boys, Mickey Hegarty and Pete Hickman, in No.5. Janice comes home to tell Leanne about the job, finds the youngsters and kicks the boys out. They return later to get more drink and attack Leanne but Samantha rescues her and physically kicks the boys out. Samantha then fails to keep her date with Des and explains to him how she was raped by a family friend called Ian Phillips and how it has ruined her life - the incident at the Battersbys' house brought it all back to her. She worries that everyone will think her strange in the way that she treats men.
