The story of 24 is presented in the semblance of real time. Each season depicts a 24-hour period in the life of Jack Bauer, who works with the United States government as it fights fictitious terrorist threats to the United States. Bauer is often in the field for the Counter Terrorist Unit (CTU) as it tries to safeguard the nation from terrorist threats. The show also follows the actions of associated CTU agents, government officials and terrorists.

@az25 she was also one of the main characters in Chuck, if you haven't seen it, I 100% advise you to, it's pretty awesome!
It's about a random nerd that gets all CIA information uploaded to his brain then has 2 people(1 CIA 1 NSA) protecting him while going on missions, Yvonne plays the badass CIA agent
@Quetzalma Totally agree. I had only seen her in Dexter before this, and while that character was pretty stupid in Dexter, she was really good playing it. I think she's perfect as a CIA agent, she plays it wonderfully, in an alternate universe where Claire Danes doesn't do Homeland, I'd love to see Strahovski play Carrie Matheson.
@Quetzalma Agreed.
Please let 24 continue, if Kiefer doesn't want to continue, keep it going with Yvonne as the main character, I feel that she(Kate) has the same spirit as Jack to keep 24 going

@az25 Yes, oh my god. I saw this. Wow, I'm so happy.
@tassosah i have some amazing news for you. http://insidetv.ew.com/2013/05/10/24-return-episodes/
Please bring this show back. Best thing to ever be created.
@az25 fun? hell no. there was nothing particularly fresh about the shooting of this show because the 24 hour gimmick was used to NO effect. you know what i would have loved? in medias res. it goes for a break. you come back and you're in the middle of something and you have to figure out what happened in the break. this NEVER happens. it's always conveniently during the break that nothing happens. every other second takes it upon itself to fill with action. which s ridiculous because they're trying to go for realism. don't deny it. that's one thing i'll compliment this show. it tried to achieve some degree of realism by showing the offices and the inner workings of CTU. but it fails so badly by dumping meaningless jargon and putting such moronic characters into this agency that i felt the test to join was a 5th grader's history paper. back to fun. what fun? listening to deadpan idiots talking about some moron's stupid mistakes and then making mistakes to add to THOSE mistakes and culminating in jack saving everyone. they have no substance, no flesh, nothing AT ALL. they just spout spy words and we assume its relevant. they don't make jokes, there's no banter and whatever side-stories are supplied get pushed to the back to make way for jack's facism and the president's complete faith in his methods.
@aniforprez How is that any different than the action shows or comic book based animation series or dramas? It's all fiction, man. I think sometimes people get caught up in all the TV we watch, that we forget this is all fake. It's all people reading words written by a room full of people, and another group of people approving or disapproving what goes in. And the thing with 24 is that, while obviously one guy holds all of the marbles and it's seemingly ridiculous, it's FUN. And what more can we ask from a television show then enjoyment, week-to-week? The way this series was shot was pretty fresh and a different look from the typical action series that came before it. I do think it's a completely different series when you watch it as a whole on DVD or something, rather than a season/day during the actual airing back in the day on Fox. It was incredibly fun to follow through week to week with each new episode, and I think what you're getting at is that it's not that great when you can control when you watch, which is something I would agree with. But it's not as bad as you say. Maybe you have a beef with Kiefer or the character Jack Bauer, but the show as a whole just wasn't as terrible as you say it was.
ok its time someone says this. this show is one of the worst i have ever seen. the entire series is the story of one guy taking it upon himself to do EVERYTHING. the plot is ridiculous, the gimmick of realtime is just a gimmick and does nothing major. most of the other cast are irritating and do nothing to move it forward. in every episode its pretty predictable that something WILL happen in the last 5 minutes to try and lengthen the day and that is unacceptable. simply the worst
Action and espionage simply does not get better than 24. Watched it front to back twice.
I love Jack Bauer.
Questo Telefilm è una merda.
Gelukkig mogen we nog een film verwachten :)
