South Park is an award-winning animated series from creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone. They have invented a whole town full of colorful personalities, where a group of eight-year-old boys try to understand the world around them. Their parents, teachers, and town leaders all mean well, but the boys learn through their misadventures that even adults make mistakes, and even the youngest and slowest among us can be wise. Despite the serious issues tackled by the show, it is sharp, funny, and often brilliant.
The crude animation, first done with paper cut-outs and then computerized, is deceptively primitive. The visual roughness fits the coarse language of the characters, because this is definitely a show for mature audiences. South Park is one of those rare shows that can make you laugh, and make you think about your long-held beliefs, both at the same time.

@Sandrosaurus The latter part of your speech made me think of 7:15 You're Getting Old, haha.
@Sandrosaurus lol, a'ight n.n.
@emonquente ...anger leads to hate, hate.. to suffering - Yoda. Chill, these are just cartoons, it's not the end of the world. And I said it was my opinion ;)
@Sandrosaurus I don't understand that assertion. It has bad episodes, the excessive break-down of full episodic structure was annoying for a couple seasons, but . .. It's till good to me. The jokes are kinda samey, but that happens to every show after a while.
To me tho, it's the cult of the Simpsons, the enourmous cast, the years and years and years of knowing these characters (literally, my entire life, first episode aired a month after I was born) and -- it's home to me. these characters are as family to me, and that's more than enough.
That, and when it comes to the simplest of things, does it make me laugh? Literally laugh, out loud? The Simpsons does this, most episodes, and that's enough.
South Park on the other hand? It's iffy, it's not that the good ones don't exist, they just are getting further apart, partly due to how few they do per year now. It's getting harder and harder to find episodes that remind me why I like this show in the first place, because too much of it is random stabs at whatever's topical that week -- which is a problem at the time ebcause I don't keep up with crap, and an even bigger one later because I can't remember the crap. Yet, I remember in the quintouplets episode that the who scene with the closet and the raid was loosely based on a real news story at the time, and the bunny costumed lady is kinda just funny either way.
Hnn. . . that's not the right thing either. Let's try this then -- It's harder and harder for me to figure out what the hell a South Park episode is saying anymore. I don't get the references, or I jsut don't care, I can't see where they're turning anything on its head, or playing at ironically, it's just. . .diarrhea -- a wash of random crap that ultimately goes nowhere and means nothing. South Park used to stand for things, to mean something, and before that it was just children in hilariously odd situations. Both worked, but this narrow, semi-surreal, highly topical approach? I don't like it.
@emonquente South Park isn't wat it used to be but it is still pretty funny in times...the Simpsons is just a hollow shell...it's dead. Just my opinion.
That's two trash episodes in a row, one more and I think I'll be done with the show. I really dun wanna, it's been 18 freaking seasons, but I'll have the Simpsons, which aren't anywhere near as good as they were, but are still serviceable.
After a few pretty average to bad seasons, South Park is really getting back in the game! Last episode was another great one!
Yeah, I know. I watched that awesome documentary/behind the scenes episode from last year that showed how each episode was made. It was awesome :)
Could happen with SP, they produce each episode in the week before airing...
S16E02 just aired. Guess they forgot to add it to TVRage.
Crappy first episode.
Season 15 was bad, I hope 16 is better..
I love this show. Trey and Matt never cease to surprise me with tales of these boys growing up, and the way they reflect current issues in the characters is simply amazing. I hope this show, and eventually something like it, continues on forever.
The episode boxes are checked in the episode list but it won't appear in my episode list on the homepage.
Why doesn't followmy.tv show the episode that aired last night?
Renewed for two more seasons:

Yeah, this show doesn't really age, you can rewatch it and still enjoy it nearly as much as the first time you have watched it :)
