Based on the popular 'Southern Vampire,' book series by Charlaine Harris, "True Blood" follows the adventures of a small-town cocktail waitress Sookie Stackhouse (who all her life was an outsider due to her gift/curse of being a telepath) and how her life is turned upside down when a member of the undead (the vampire race 'came out of the coffin' several years earlier) walks into her life one fateful night.

Right, so. . .Season 1, 2, and sorta 4 are worth watching. If you pick this show up now that it's done just. . .stop at 4 if you're still going. 5,6 and 7 are just, bad.
Season 7 feels a little hasted sometimes. They did know it was the last season so they could have written a couple storylines with endings a little bit more naturally. The series had a good feel (a little black) closed ending, so iam happy.
For a drama supernatural series i rate it 8/10.
For a overall series i rate it a 7/10.
If you liked the first 3 episoded its safe to say you will like the entire series. Because of all the storylines i do recommend you bench watch the entire series within a 1 year timeframe.
7 is still worth watching, no matter what people say. It doesn't end as bad as it begins, in my opinion.
I am really glad this is the last season.
2 > 1 > 4 > 3 > 6 > 5 >>>>>>> 7
Ugh. . . .just. . .ugh. . .
Next season (7) will be the last, it was confirmed today!
what the eff is going on with this show
love this season <3
So both Sookie and Jason don't notice their fairy grandfather has suddenly disappeared?
I just love this show, it's so entertainning!
@emonquente Basically, I think the show has run too long, and had too many plots in each series, and the 'mystery' approach to every series finale lead to everyone involved in the project out-right forgetting what they were even on about. It is high-time it ended, with a proper, satisfying last series. But at this point, I would want the next series to be a climax to an old plot-line in every single episode. And even then they'd have to leave some out that the hadn't gotten to yet, and (as I said) THAT is exactly the problem with this show.
I just want this damned show to end. . . when things get this . . . big. Lookit, I love anime and old-school JRPGs where any random story suddenly become about the end of the damn world at the hands of one bleeding dude but. . . .well, there's a reason that bit is only the last few episodes of an anime, or hours of the old JRPGs. Draw it out, and things get crappy real fast.
I still like the show. . .a little, but the first season, and the one with the necromancers were the only ones I really, really liked. I managed to actually get used to the whole fairy thing and all -- but they keep bringing crap in. I want it to end. We could (and should) have already covered the endy bit a long time back, the pacing is just too slow. I'll give them this though - at least it's only like 15 eps a year, and off more often than airing. I only stick with it for the end now though.
You know, it isn't even that it's bad now though -- it's just SO different from what it was that you can't even recognize it. The same problem almost every American programme runs into these days. They run so long, and they feel they have to keep getting bigger and bigger. Otherwise they stagnate, true, like Family Guy has.
I will say this. I do actually like Warlow a bit. Or at least, I think I could if the show wasn't split focus 6 ways from sunday, which is the biggest problem. I swear, 90% of the Big Huge World Major Life Changing crap that went on in the past seasons -- how much of that matters now? Some of my favourite plot threads and lines just died in the water with absolutely no resolution at all -- and last night's episode gave us our first actual resolution.
A good mystery raises more questions than it answers with every reveal ---- but a good drama has to resolve most every issue between books, and then actually carry on the 'main plotpoints' from one book to another. Not randomly resolve a conflict that really has nothing to do with the main story, and drop everything meaningful
Good season imo..
Season 1 was def better than 2 though! But yeah, I'm quitting as well, this is so bad.
S2>S1>S3>S5>S6>S4
Season 6 started poorly...time to put this series (that was only really good for 2,5 seasons) to rest.
I miss True Blood! Can't wait for next season *-*
I officially dropped this show, good riddance :/
Season 5 is so bad. wtf?
