After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the Pacific. When he returns home to Starling City, his devoted mother Moira, much-beloved sister Thea, and best friend Tommy welcome him home, but they sense Oliver has been changed by his ordeal on the island. While Oliver hides the truth about the man he’s become, he desperately wants to make amends for the actions he took as the boy he was. Most particularly, he seeks reconciliation with his former girlfriend, Laurel Lance. As Oliver reconnects with those closest to him, he secretly creates the persona of Arrow – a vigilante – to right the wrongs of his family, fight the ills of society, and restore Starling City to its former glory. By day, Oliver plays the role of a wealthy, carefree and careless philanderer he used to be – flanked by his devoted chauffeur/bodyguard, John Diggle – while carefully concealing the secret identity he turns to under cover of darkness. However, Laurel’s father, Detective Quentin Lance, is determined to arrest the vigilante operating in his city. Meanwhile, Oliver’s own mother, Moira, knows much more about the deadly shipwreck than she has let on – and is more ruthless than he could ever imagine.

the show is getting into me... has a great script, good actors and amazing actions sequences!!!
This series impresses me more and more. So far has been a very good surprise. Has great action scenes and the story begins to build up and leaves severall questions in the air. 4/5, until now.
Welp, it's corny, but in a very comic-book way, which works, given the content. I'll be following this for a while.

The pacing so far has been a bit too fast for my liking (from banter, to action, to heart to heart with the ex, to action, to flashback...). All scenes ar eimportant, but it makes it feel... shallow? I blame it on the fact that so far there has been a 'target' and therefore a hunt every time and to push something else alongside that makes things feel... well, again, shallow. Fast.
Also, the premise so far isn't plausible to say the least but I can handwave that -most- of the time with 'it's a superhero show'. I almost think this would work better if they did a flashback for one whole episode or something so we can see where he got both the physical and the other training (so far building arrows with mini-recording devices, languages, hacking at an apparently very high skill level (just... how?) apparently disabling all kinds of security measures though we are never actually shown that and who knows what else...).
In the end a tad too action-focused and filled with giant plot-holes for me. Still watchable... just not above a three, and probably never will be.
