Glad I didn't start following this, it just got cancelled.
I was expecting nothing from this show, but I'm loving it so far! I can't say it's thaaat scary, tho. Of course it have its moments, but the show reminds me a little bit of "The Devil's Advocate" (not a horror movie but a suspense). And this is really nice because I'm always wondering what's going to happen next.
However, I think this is the kind of show which can have a nice closure in one season only. All the questions the episodes have pointed out so far can easily be solved in this season.
Anyway... let's see what happens. The only thing that matters right now is that it's a worth watching show!
I'm scared :(
Definitely one of the shows that leaves you wanting more at the end (at least after the pilot :) ). An old Hotel, a person that is at the very least insinuated to be the Devil himself and many guests/tennants whose backstory and motivations are just begging to be explored. There is a couple as the new arrivals that ask all the obvious questions to give the audience 'an in', so to speak, but it will be interesting to see if they will replace said couple after a season to keep things fresh or whatnot.
Basically, this is a show that makes watching manipulation (by youknowwho), ghosts, characters wresting with their lifes and conscience a.s.o. incredibly amusing which you might feel a little tiny bit terrible for since, you know, bad stuff is happening to these characters... but its awesome! *ducks*
I would compare it to something like Amercian Horror Story, except not 'only' with ghosts as here there is definitely someone pulling the strings. And loving it.
edit: It might be that the show is setting up the new arrivals' female lead to be the, erm, good side of the whole thing since she seems to be sensitive to all things supernatural and another guest seems to have visions as well, so people that hate that kind of stuff beware.
