Friday Night Lights

Friday Night Lights

Based on the novel and film of the same name, focuses on the all-star high school football team in the town of Dillon, Texas, where nothing is more important than winning the game come Friday night. This season, the 'Dillon Panthers' are expected to win the State Championship under the guidance of first-year coach, Eric Taylor. However, when the star quarterback Jason Street is paralyzed in the first game of the season, the pressure is on both Coach Taylor and the boys to rise from the tragedy and continue to win games. As the season progresses, from pre-season games to playoffs, Coach Taylor molds the boys into the champions he knows they can be, as well as strong young men.

Early discussion of a movie, featuring Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton:

This was originally a book, then a movie (Directed by Peter Berg), then Berg helped bring it to television, and now it seems he wants to do a movie based off from the show. I'd be for it.

I agree as well. For me, season 1 was one of the most realistic and heartfelt seasons I have ever watched, of any show, on TV. There was no way they could have possibly matched it with season 2, which was still a good season.

After that, they had to rebuild the cast, which resulted in seasons 3 and 4 being a little weaker than they could have been, but a monster buildup to season 5, which in my opinion was the second best season. They recaptured a lot of what the first season was about, but with mostly a whole new cast. I'm glad the Taylor's were always there, though.

I think a good sign of the cast being really high end was how quickly virtually everyone that was ever on the show ended up with other roles. You see the cast in movies and on other TV shows all the time now. It was a very big breakout cast.

I'm almost through the whole of the series and I have to say, this is by far one of the most emotionally engaging and best written & casted shows I have ever seen. Kyle Chandler is playing the role of his life and is being supported by a pretty unknown but absolutely terrific cast.
Admittedly, season 2 has a hard time living up to the standard set in season 1 but that is absolutely no reason to not watch the series, and season 3, 4 and 5 will simply blow you away.

Definitely a MUST WATCH in my book. I'm gonna miss coach Taylor. Clear eyes, full hearts, can't lose.

This is one of the best drama series I have EVER seen, finishing season 1 but can't wait for what's to come next.

Watching season 4 at the moment and I'm really liking the fresh setting... It was maybe necessary, but it's turning out quite nice :)
