Aside from their love of basketball, Lucas (Chad Michael Murray) and Nathan Scott (James Lafferty) have very little in common, but their shared father will forever connect their lives in ways they could never imagine. Their father, Dan Scott (Paul Johansson), abandoned Lucas and chose to raise Nathan in his image -- a life of luxury and basketball that molded him into the star of the Tree Hill Ravens basketball team that he has become. Lucas was raised by his single mother, Karen Roe (Moira Kelly), with help from his uncle, Keith Scott (Craig Sheffer). He kept his distance from Nathan, but his love of basketball led their worlds to collide when the Ravens' coach, Whitey Durham (Barry Corbin), put Lucas on the team. As the brothers take the court, side-by-side, Lucas and Nathan struggle to come to terms with the past that has haunted both boys their entire life. However, though basketball, and the slow road to discovering themselves, Lucas and Nathan soon find that they have more in common than they could have ever imagined.

First 4 seasons are great, with a little dip in the third.
The fourth may actually really be one of the best serie seasons I have ever seen.
Fifth and sixth already got a little 'weird' but when Lucas and Peyton left it really went downhill.
However every season still had some great episodes but the feeling I had before completely left me.
I also dont understand why they would bring Lucas back for such an insignificant role on the airport (and let him have that haircut), they should have skipped that part and should have given him (and Peyton) some screentime in the final.
A show with so much heart in it, making it the best series ever for me.
No series will ever triumph this.
The last season was pretty cliché :) And one of the story lines even seemed like science-fiction :D But "Danny Boy" was an awesome episode and ended the Dan storyline in a great way.
Still a shame Lucas and Peyton weren't back and that one time we saw Lucas it was pretty bad...
@Private Yeah... the last season was pretty much disappointment for me
@colorblind90 To bad they didn't bring back the whole cast. Lucas had awful hair in his last appearance
You will be missed Tree Hill
waiting for Lucas to come back!
@ColeFrost To be honest I love One Tree Hill more now then I used to, it's more adult now, the only thing that bothers me is the fact they completely threw out basketbal (it used to be something important in OTH).
And yes a One Tree Hill season with some Lucas and Peyton in it would be a good closure of the series. Without them finishing the series would just feell strange and out of place, after them being the most important characters in 6 seasons.
@colorblind90
I know what you mean. I don't think the writers have ever been able to do anything for more than a season or two, without running it into the ground.
The show started strong for a couple of seasons, then was dropping a bit in the third. They then started copying storylines straight out of the news and off of other shows, but that backfired after a while. Eventually they went superficial like a soap opera and had to plug a new band every week. Finally, the show went more family like, which worked for a minute, but then everything went too well and took the show down.
Too much up, not enough down. Maybe Dan coming back will shake things up again. I am just as sick of the way it is right now as you are. I did think season 7 was good, even without Lucas and Peyton. It may be time to bring them back, for a proper sendoff.
@ColeFrost well, maybe you're right that few last seasons without Luke and Peyton are somehow "deeper" but I think that sometimes it's just too much. They are putting these big phrases about family, love and friendship everywhere, constantly, in every episode and I am sick of it. / I've read an article and I hope that it's coming in the right direction. Keep me updated, will you? :)
