After a scientist is kidnapped by an African warlord, Michael leads a CIA team that includes Sam and Jesse to rescue him. After the scientist is successfully rescued, Michael is praised for his efforts but the CIA is angry at Sam and Jesse for destroying an important weapon during the process of the rescue. Michael and Madeline discover that Madeline's boyfriend, Benny, is working for Anson. At the end of the episode Michael and Madeline taps into a phone call between Anson and Benny. Benny informs Anson that he feels guilty for using Madeline and that he wants to stop. In response Anson tells Benny to open a package that he delivered to Benny's house. Benny opens the package and sees a bomb inside the box. Benny drops his cell phone in response and Benny's house explodes killing Benny. Having witnessed the bombing, Madeline shows a look of horror on her face.
