@Baltimore lol, yeah I noticed that. The make-up crew needs to scrape a couple of layers off. if you ever get a chance, check out his performance in Damages, he appeared in seasons 4 and 5, and his performance in season 4 is one of the strongest I've seen on a drama tv series.

@az25 I think you're right, you can't judge a show completely by it's pilot just like you can't judge a book by it's cover. I also like the Mindy actress, although she seems to have fallen into a make-up-case in the pilot. It's the details that I didn't like but I'll definately give it a chance. And yes, I looove Chris Messina, especially in The Newsroom and he's a good part, as always.

I enjoyed this. We need more females leads who aren't stupidly skinny and super hot. And, for me personally, it's always nice to see indian people getting green-lit for lead roles. And Chris Messina as second lead in a comedy? Hells yeah, really love this guy. He knocked it out of the park with his performance in Damages and his limited role in The Newsroom. Also, nice little cameo from my boy Richard Schiff in the opening scenes.

@Baltimore Don't give up on it just yet. PIlots for comedy shows are incredibly difficult to do because a lot of it is based on characters and relationships, and actors are still trying to flesh out exactly who and what they want the character to be and it takes a few episodes to do that. New Girl is a fantastic example of that, where I'd say Modern Family was an anomaly in that the pilot was pretty brilliant.

This was a weird pilot. Mindy is ... well, I don't know if I will ever be able to like her yet. But I am willing to watch at least a few other episodes before I judge.
