@purefault For me the show was better than the book. It dove in deeper and had better supporting roles, overall it was much more coherent and explained well. Also the show kind of grew on me, it still has its obvious flaws but I got into it really fast. Have read some grueling things about it though, with it glorifying suicide and stuff like that. I thought the book did a worse job, that was really glorified, in the show it kinda ... well, maybe I am old enough now to differentiate it. But it seems to have ruffled a lot of feathers, so I am as well torn about that.
The book is a good one though, I read it when I was 14 and liked it (even though I didn't love it, because of the characters as well).

Read your comment on the first episode of 13 Reasons Why... I was feeling kinda the same. I ended up hating the main characters over the course of the series, but I found the overall story really interesting.
If you've finished the series, do you feel it was better than the book? I didn't realize it was a based on a book, actually.
