As an American, of course I supported my Team USA in this match. But Portugal made it a dramatic watch, scoring so early and so late in the game. It could've been an easy win for USA, but the last goal by Silvestre Varela saved some breathing space for the Portuguese in the last 20 seconds of the match. It was amazing, I admit it.
As of now, Portugal is at the very bottom of the group. It needs to win the next match against Ghana with at least 4 goals in order to advance, which is rather difficult considering that it hasn't even won the first two matches. Seems like the chances are much easier for Germany and USA to advance to knockout stage.
We are in need of a combination of too many factors, can't see how we're going to move to the knockout stage. Well, we've been ones for beating the odds lately, but now it's too much, I guess.
