A new operator, Cy Tolliver, arrives in camp and opens a new joint, the Bella Union, directly across from the Gem. Seth and Sol finally get Al Swearengen to agree on a price for their lot. Al sends Dan out to reconnoiter Brom's claim, and to help Mr. Garret to meet with an accident.
