Master of Horror Stephen King's first effort at an X-File sees Scully's well deserved vacation going terribly wrong and landing her in a small Maine town where one of the residents is believed to be a witch, and her autistic daughter's doll has frighteningly evil powers.

Absolutely rips. Makes one think Stephen King understood the X-Files better than most of its staff writers, especially Chris Carter himself. Scully and Mulder's over-the-phone banter is amazing and embodies the characters perfectly, Scully's demeanor about being on vacation and dealing with this ludicrous scenario is hilarious, the supporting roles are great. EDIT: Okay, I instantly have to take some of this back, as apparently it was Carter's idea to keep the two apart. But still...
8/10
Spooky, albeit formulaic. It's effective enough, though.
