i thought i was having hearthattattack when someone shot the deer.
It seems to me most of the people here are looking at the events in this show and judging the characters in a very logical way. But you have to realize that most of real life isn't very logical. Imagine how it will be in a setting like that. The characters aren't Spock, they will do illogical stuff. Like taking a bath with drinking water or bitching to each other when there's an apocalypse going on. The fact that they don't act like (for instance) the characters in the Resident Evil movies, who always seem to know what they're doing, is what makes the comic and the show interesting for me. Because we will all make stupid decisions under pressure.
And concerning the character development, it's there but it's gradual. I might be tainted by the comic, but I see where certain people are going and why they are doing the things they are doing.
After the horrendous end of s1, I'm enjoying the show again.
Meh, dropping this show
@soulke care to explain a bit then? Blood on blood = not infected?
@kakature I was thinking the exact same thing. I mean, okay you're happy you found some water,great, but don't waste it all immediately dumbass. Besides, what were they going to do with the water anyway, carry it? Hell no. Pretty useless scene if you ask me.
Oh by the way. What the fuck was Shane doing? Finding water bottles and taking a shower with drinking water? What a douchebag.
+1 to most of the more negative comments here. It wasn't a -bad- episode, but it was constantly facepalm worthy, if you're into that sort of thing.
I can't believe these people are so dysfunctional, when for all they know they're the only people left alive. The main characters former partner (cannot remember any names) would really walk out on all these people. Really!? And not giving everyone guns?
I think I hate all the characters at this point (so that could be development), and the dialogue was pretty awful. The lost potential in the scavenging scene was particularly disappointing.
I read this episode was under the original exec producter, and later on mazzara comes in. I hope we notice a change for the better at that point.
@soulke I don't know what you mean exactly, but even disregarding infection, that was an arterial bleed, no?
@curve really uncool language.
@fdesmedt if you have read the comics you would understand this. they should have explained while at the CDC on how you become a zombie...
@Geido +1on your comment so much
I read about character development here so I was eager to watch this ep... Disappointment achieved!
Already regret I watched the season preview at the end. Why would they show so much already? All my questions have been answered... f'ing retards. Do they really want no one to look forward to the next episode?
yeah forgot that one. You are 100% dead with such a cut and bloodloss...Whatever it's nigga powahh I guess
My biggest problem was the scene where the black guy had an open arm wound and the redneck guy puts a bleeding zombie corps over him. Surely that's a one way ticket to zombieland, no? A bit too careless, if you ask me.
I want this to be good so bad yet they are f with us that it's not funny anymore. Where to start?
1. grandpa (no vision) on roof at lookout and won't say "Hey watch out" (even to the girl below her).
2. Zombies can't smell anymore
3. that church doesn't have crucifixes...
4. 5 minutes praying to jesus for a sign (wtf srsly)
5. the deer scene...I thought they were going to shoot it, but the kid goes mental and wants to pet it? I thought the deer would start talking or fly away. Not sure why.
@kakature The praying scenes were good written. Also cast did well. It could've been really cheesy, but wasn't. For me it was good emotional addition to the episode. I definitely enjoyed it more then really bad 'hiding under the cars' scene, which was denying information from epiode "Guts".
@furbul So you're saying you enjoyed the praying scenes? :p
@Geido Nice character development, what?
the suspense was rly good, loved this ep!
I loved it! The herd scene was really strong, pure survival horror. I was on the edge of my seat, that doesn't happen a lot. Lots of gore, nice character development (I've heard it being described as whiny but I don't see that) and the fact that it diverges from the comic keeps it fresh for me. Much better than the end of S1.
little lame at the beginning (hiding from the walkers), but after that it got better. scenes in the church were really good. i enjoyed also music a lot.
however, the writing could be less cheesy.
I really hope both kids will die. Their acting is horrible and I had to take a break from watching multiple times just because I couldn't stand it anymore.
Loved the first ep of season 2.. Still like on how they stray from the books...
