The Miami Metro-Dade Police Department are up to their heads in drug trafficking, extortion, prostitution, gang warfare, and much more. They handle it as well as you could expect: With force, occasional compromise, and legal deception. The people who exhibit these traits better than most of the MDPD are Sonny Crockett and Ricardo Tubbs, two aggressive detectives with personal scores to settle with the drug lords and bad guys of the city, but it's not long before the two find that settling the score means going up even against their own kind, the hand of justice.
