After 15 years of living in a cult, the unbreakable and wide-eyed Kimmy (Ellie Kemper, "The Office") is rescued along with three other women, causing a national sensation that culminates with an appearance on the "Today" show. Before getting back on the bus to Indiana, however, Kimmy decides it's time to reclaim her life. Armed with just a backpack, light-up sneakers, a couple way-past-due library books and a big wad of rescue-fund cash, she's ready to take on New York City. It's easily the best time of Kimmy's life and she makes a spontaneous decision to rent a room from Titus, a wannabe Broadway actor who makes a living as a robot in Times Square. Motivated to start moving forward, Kimmy gets a job as a nanny for an Upper East Side family and it quickly becomes clear to her that money and status aren't synonymous with happiness (or even sanity). Determined to have a romance and take advantage of everything life has to offer, Kimmy is using her optimistic spirit to finally start having all kinds of adventures in a world she never knew existed.

@ryano1076 Bc I'm rewatching 30 Rock now I can say confidently that I stand by every bit of that comment! Streaming episode lengths completely ruin Fey and Carlock's comedic rhythms. Great News and even parts of Mr. Mayor show they can still make great episodes at 20-21 minutes. Unbreakable has great individual jokes (the running joke about the apartment secretly being a sideways tugboat always cracks me up) but the extra 9 to 15 minutes just becomes dead air and makes every episode drag on.
also to be clear in "the worst show I've watched to completion" the "to completion" part is key, I'd call this a 5/10 show overall and I've seen a lot worse that I quit on

Possibly the worst show I've watched to completion. After the decent first season—which even then was coasting on Kemper being fun and leftover 30 Rock jokes—it starts to fall apart in the second season and by the fourth is a complete wreck. absolutely no rhythm, each episode feels like an unfunny 21 minute sitcom stretched to 29 minutes. given the extra time compared to broadcast TV, Carlock and Fey don't add more jokes, they add more silent beats and narrative scaffolding. really that's the best case scenario—sometimes they use the flexibility of streaming to make a 55 minute opposite-of-timely sliding doors parody. a sitcom episode that long would already be unconscionable even if it were funny.
somehow second season is even more unfunny than the first
If Ellie Kemper wasnt so cute, the series would be real stupid :)
It gets better as you get used to it. Jacqueline and Lillian are brilliant.
I'm a fan!
Love it
Gets much better in the second half. Still, it's nothing special.
Very funny! The 30 rock vibe is pretty strong and that's a good thing.
I love this show. Funny and it has a big heart. What's not to love?
man, this show is kinda stupid.

I can't wait for this!
Getting two seasons on Netflix :)
From 30 Rock head writers Tina Fey and Robert Carlock and with Jane Krakowski - I couldn't be more excited for this show!!
