Alphas is an action-packed thriller from writers Zak Penn (The Avengers, X-Men: The Last Stand) and Michael Karnow. In the series, five ordinary people are brought together to form one extraordinary team of Alphas -- people with the unique power to stretch the capabilities of the human mind giving them superhuman physical and mental abilities.
Operating within the Defense Criminal Investigation Service of the U.S. Department of Defense and led by preeminent neurologist and psychiatrist Dr. Lee Rosen (Emmy Award-winner and Academy Award-nominee David Strathairn), an expert in Alpha phenomena, the team investigates cases that point to others with Alpha abilities. As they work against the clock to solve this new brand of crime, they must prevent their own personality differences and disparate backgrounds from interfering with their ultimate mission to catch the enemy.
In addition to Academy Award nominee David Strathairn (Temple Grandin, Good Night, and Good Luck), the ensemble cast stars Malik Yoba (New York Undercover, Why Did I Get Married?), Warren Christie (October Road), Laura Mennell (Watchmen), Ryan Cartwright (Mad Men, Bones) and Azita Ghanizada (Castle).

I don't even know what this show is all about anymore... Just lame characters with lame powers. Lame plot and in the end of half season episodes appears that Nina pushes at people. 1st season was good but 2nd, mueh... Storyline going almost to nowhere.
Being a very realistic TV series, you cannot compare Alphas to Heroes. What's so great about Alphas is the perfect blend of characters. Their development is shown incredibly well, sometimes even so good that it makes the storyline look weak. Season 1 had a great, mysterious story and season 2 even elaborates on that. Must-see!
It really started to pick up in the second part of S2 though, can't wait to know what'll happen in Season 3!
I'm done, Season 2 ep 5. I barely got through ep 4 and 5 didn't improve my view.
I'm just sick of the melodrama. There is one tiny bit of story in this show, that is so weakly handled they can only give tiny tiny tiny bits, if any, of it and still make as many episodes as they apparently want. And the character reveals and filler are just not interesting.
The two worst crimes of entertainment are mediocrity and being boring. This show is both.
The first season had some REALLY interesting ideas. But the comeback for the second season was just. . .lazy. It was predictable in the extreme instead of taking the risky and new road. I won't spoil it, but let's just say Heroes' sudden end has indeed done the damage we expected it to.
That said, the show is still very decent with some good ideas that get your hopes up for a moment of brilliance. . . but I think it's safe to say these people will always err on the side of the safe and lazy -- clumsy handlings that spoil true potential in favor of just the okay.
The show certainly isn't bad. But go ahead and keep watching, even if it follows this most direct path, it will be enough to enjoy.
this is not like 'x-men' or 'heros'. it could really had happened, that's what making this show special.
the final was amazing.
Loved the first season.
Took a long while to get going, and even then didn't really hold my attention, sort of X-men lite. But the season finale seemed like a game changer, and I'm sort of looking forward to a new season.
Watched one epi but looked as if it was put together by some amateurs...
Very great season finelle, that's it Dr. Rosen, let the world know the truth!!!!! Can't wait 4 the next season!
As I liked it a lot, I am happy that it has been renewed for a 2nd season.

Not so bad, let's continue watching and see what happen!
@Niesaanval dito
I just saw the first episode and found it crap..
Seen this before 'Heroes', 'The 4400' ...
But I have to say trailer looks good though.
Some opinions please - is it worth watching?
