This was actually pretty great until the hilarious and totally out-of-left-field ending with Shatner screaming about the US Constitution.

That's definitely one reason I think I prefer the original series to TNG. TNG is probably a better show by modern standards, but my god some of the episodes are so thoroughly boring. The original series can often be pretty terrible, but it's almost always interesting. I found it interesting that the stuff about Star Trek that people parody (Kirk fucking alien women, etc) tends to be in the much weaker third season, and the first two seasons were generally much better than the cultural reputation they have.
@Flashman I honestly thought the set-up was enough to keep my interest...pretty awesome idea despite the unintentional mild racism, and even a relevant idea (for the time). Even so, by all means, this should probably have a lower ranking, but I was seriously laughing my ass off at the last ten minutes. I had to give points for entertainment value.
I hated this one, that stuff was more ridiculous than even Star Trek could bear.
