I loved the plot twist. I've known all along that the way Ted would meet the mother was never going to be satisfying for a show called "How I met your Mother". This way they've found a great way to fix that problem.
In theory.
The ending felt really rushed. They should've taken some time to work out the plot twist.
just one thing, anyone remember what were the years in which Robin was (will?) telling Lilly about how she left Marvin with Mike Tyson? Did writers again forget about some small part, since Robin wasn't it gang's life for a years since her wedding, especially since divorce.
I know it's a detail but in the show so much focusing about telling story should be no such errors

So they spent an entire season focusing on the Barney and Robin relationship and their wedding, only to have them break up? That, and the last few minutes with the ridiculous twist, ruined the whole finale for me.
I think that the writers have done a decent job, they have followed a plan and all things have matched at the end at a reasonable way... but you can't make a sad ending to this show, not for HIMYM, it doesn't deserve that, oh no.. not this.. not this way :(
I think it was the best. Maybe a little messy but it gave me a satisfied ending. The reason why it was a great ending there isnt much to tell what i really want to know.
