Mulder is held hostage inside an office where a man claims his boss is a monster and has clouded all their minds while he turns them into zombies one by one, which is disbelieved until Mulder opens his mind and allows himself to see it too.

Fun body-snatcher riff of an episode that takes some neat turns. The hostage situation that evolves in the first half doesn't end up filling the whole hour as expected, and the episode shifts into something else. The monster looks really cool—supposedly it looked awful and hokey during filming, but with some last-minute VFX to turn it into a shifting blur the X-Files team made something super memorable. While I'm mixed on the open-endedness, it does well by the series' central conflict of Mulder the believer vs Scully the skeptic.
9/10
This was fantastic. Love the premise.
