Love the title sequence of The Pacific
I can't even compare this to Band of Brothers.
Different writing styles about different wars, basically. Although it was all WWII, it was different to fight against Germans and against Japanese, I imagine.
My favorite episodes were those about Sledge.
@pleunv I can see the Japanese being unhappy with The Pacific, but the Chinese and Koreans among others were quite pleased to have the Japanese off their shores.
IMO The Pacific didn't give the epic feel of Band of Brothers, some of it was BoB's very likable characters, and the European war story from Normandy to the Eagle's Nest in BoB was just more compelling too.
It was a good effort but The Pacific just can't get out of the shadow of BoB.
@gregosz Something tells me 'asians' aren't such big fans of The Pacific..
I thought it was very nice, especially the Iwo Jima episode.
Good series. But I think the reason I like BoB more is because the story is situated in Europe and I can "compare". Maybe the Asians like The Pacific more than BoB.
Huge letdown. I kept waiting for the moment where I'd sit in front of my television, totally in awe, like with BoB. That legacy is too hard to live up to apparently.
It is good. But BoB is just waaay better imo. I don't think HBO will ever be able to overclass BoB
Some nice quality episodes however not as good as BoB as some have said. Episodes based on Slegde are very good though.
Same, not as good as BoB after 2 eps. But still good tho.
I'm missing that band of brothers feeling though. Its a very different setting. The first 2 episodes were good.
