Her new watcher, Rupert Giles (Anthony Head), also happens to be the school librarian. It is his job to train her and guide her in all the skills she needs to be a Slayer. She and a group of close friends, commonly referred to as "The Scooby Gang", help her in her battle against evil.

@gaby81 I know what you mean, I love this show. They should get all of the actors together to do a reunion show. But, since it's "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and it's supernatural, they should do a miniseries lasting like half a season, or at least 5 to 10 shows. It was good enough for a spin-off ("Angel", for anyone reading this who wasn't an avid viewer), so why not give it a reunion? It's what the fans would want (if it's done right) and it deserves more than 1 to 2 hours, it deserves a few hours/a few episodes/a miniseries reunion!
I miss Buffy so much, this was my favorite show!
Best TV show EVER.

Buffy is by no means the perfect TV show but it is such an important show for shows today. Joss created really great characters, relationships and his experimental episodes are some of my favorite episodes of TV. So yea Buffy cheesy and slow at times but if you like TV just watch it cause it really has such great stuff included in it and you'd be missing out if you didn't.
i love btvs so much im gonna exsplode
Wow, this is way ahead its time and today.
oh my god I just love this show way too much
@emonquente It's kind off strange you hated season 5 so much, season 4 is generally considered to be far worse. I personally can't relate to any complaints you gave, but I would REALLY recommend you keep going. Buffy really isn't a show you should stop watching now. I mean, as @Mitholas said you're missing one of the best freaking episodes of any show ever made. Also, MUSTARD!
@emonquente Well then you're missing at least one episode commonly regarded as one of the best things to ever hit television.
@Mitholas I just read the summary of them and have to say that the summaries alone just cemented my decision to never get past ep 3 of season 6. After the ride of season 5 -- which i maintain was rubbish with only a few entertaining bits to be found in tarah willow and .. .what was his name, xander?
What they tried to do with season 5, I think they deserved to be canceled for it, and it just felt like they couldn't do the show anymore. . . I don't want anything to do with what came after. Maybe that'll be the wrong decision, but I already wish I could forget season 5 and pretend it ended with 4, I don't want to add two more seasons to forget.
Seriously, think about it, if we who have seen them could unwatch the last 4 or 5 episodes of Black Cat could we'd do almost anything for it!
@emonquente I thought the inclusion of Dawn was daring, but ultimately a good idea. It's an inclusion only a show like Buffy could have pulled off, and I think it's a really interesting idea. It's just a shame they made her so unlikeable. If they hadn't ended the show at season 5 (they knew they weren't getting a sixth season on The WB and the UPN pick up happened later, so they wrote an ending to the show), things might have gone differently and Dawn might have been written off at the end of season 5 maybe. Personally, I really, really like season 6. That feeling of "what's it all for, who cares", that numbness... I can understand that. Season 6 is controversial, but I think it has a good balance between the really dark elements (Buffy's main arch) and the funny, sillier elements (the trio, who are sort of annoying in themselves but did bring on some really entertaining episodes).
You have seen Once More With Feeling though, right? And the following Tabula Rasa?
@Mitholas I got through to a couple eps into season 6. By whih point Buffy had been such a bitch for so long i just couldn't watch it anymore. There where other problems by then too. But wanting to slap the main character constantly just ruins a show for me.
Also, forcing new characters into a how and having he others react with completely abnormal manners is just. . . You simply CANT do what they did with that sister thing , and to make it worse they made it a major focus of the show!
Season 2,3 and 4 were awesome though.
@emonquente It gets SO much better after the first season though! Definitely keep going, you have some of the best television ever made ahead of you.
Just watched the first season, not the best writing in the world and it certainly did age, but not bad either.
Awesome!
@inakio agreed
very underrated show, but amazing!
Best show ever ^_^
