Golden Globe winner Jonathan Rhys Meyers ("The Tudors") stars in this provocative new drama as one of the world's most iconic characters.
It's the late 19th century, and the mysterious Dracula has arrived in London, posing as an American entrepreneur who wants to bring modern science to Victorian society. He's especially interested in the new technology of electricity, which promises to brighten the night - useful for someone who avoids the sun. But he has another reason for his travels: he hopes to take revenge on those who cursed him with immortality centuries earlier. Everything seems to be going according to plan... until he becomes infatuated with a woman who appears to be a reincarnation of his dead wife.
From the producers of the critically acclaimed, Emmy Award-winning hit "Downton Abbey" comes "Dracula," a twisted, sophisticated and sexy take on Bram Stoker's classic novel, proving that some stories never die.

I liked it... I liked it very much. Quite slow in action but the 2nd part was a blast :) It had its darkness and I enjoyed Mina and Grayson's act. Tho, I'm not sure a believe The Dracula to be obsessive in that way, to be so susceptible with anger. He wouldn't live long with his secret bc of killing with no sense really.
I'll give it 4/5 stars and I pity that it got cancelled :( Maaany worse shows has already multiple seasons ;/
I really wish they'd gone for a 2nd season. I kinda enjoyed it.
Cancelled.
@Baltimore thanks! :)
@Nicktim No, there were only 10 episodes for season 1 planned and aired. Right now it's on the bubble. I personally hope for a second season, because even though the beginning was shitty and some scenes were totally dumb, I kinda liked it. Definitely a guilty pleasure show.
it has been cancelled already or what?
@nukstr "Little drama nor action" ?! Don't judge a show if you've only watched one episode of it...
@Fairiestale I have to reply to myself. Now, I've seen all the episodes until the ninth.. and.. I love it! Totally love it. {Sure, I can't totally love JR Meyers.....}
Watching for the beauty that is Katie McGrath. Yay for vamp!Lucy :D
I saw the first epi, i have to agree, what a shity actor is this?
I'm so disappointed with this show!
Getting better episode by episode.
Another bland with little Drama nor Action. Who thinks this show is acclaimed success. I can neither see or predict people liking this show for little excitement. It has shortcomings and has not intrigued me since the first episode. Cannot understand background nor future. this show is put together horribly. I have put this 2 out of five stars. Neither I should recommend this show and will most likely not either picked up for another season unless NBC has money pouring out of their ears. I predict this show will flop and Neilson Ratings will bomb after 3 episodes. Can any Network come up with good shows, why is every show seem so bland and always a ancient ideas. These shows seem short lived and none have the long standing ie, "Lost". Prime Networks have invaded our lives with little nor exciting shows and nor movies have become bland if anything but great. Will we ever see an outstanding source or inspirational shows/ movies. Its about time Pirateurs come into the picture I suggest we look for ideas in ourselves and compel our Ideas to become mere suggestions to more idealized.
The ass of a monkey is better actor than Jonathan Rhys Meyers. Another serie of vampires ruined.
El protagonista está sobreactuado no, lo siguiente.
@b0sse Oh wow dude. I don't think it was 'women' who ruined anything, it's just that romance sells. And please, the dracula we know since bram stocker is a romantic one. So it's nothing about twilight, it's about Stoker, it's about Rice, and all the others who made vampirism look somewhat appealing to romance in general, not only women.
@b0sse As a born and bred Romanian, I have to say Hollywood always gets it wrong! There hasn't been made a Dracula movie yet to be even a little accurate. But despite what the entire world believs, the real person the character of Dracula is based on was a great King, feared and admired at the same time, with an unsatiable hunger for justice. He has always been good, but he's probably rolling in his grave cursing everybody who took his name and turned it into what is today.
From the producers of the critically acclaimed, Emmy Award-winning hit "Downton Abbey"............................. lol, that already makes it sound shitty. And of course it's a vampire story about a good vampire, as is the custom these days with all this twilight fagginess going around.......sigh, women have ruined the vampire genre.
Finally it's getting closer!!
Can't wait for this!
With Carnivàle's Daniel Knauf attached, I'm really, really looking forward to this. I really hope it's good.
