To protect them from a killer angel, Balthazar sends Sam and Dean to an alternate dimension where they are duplicates of "Jared Padalecki" and "Jensen Ackles," actors who appear in a show about two brothers who hunt monsters. The brothers are forced to pretend to be actors, but soon discover that the angel has followed them.

Best episode........best
Best episode........best
Amazing! I just love this episode
Amazing episode! Hilarious! That scene near the end when they jumped through the window back to their reality, with the freezing and the screen going black had me laughing for hours because they criticized it earlier on the episode :P
I looked this episode up, because I was curious who wrote and directed it.
Ben Edlund.
A new name to me, but looking at some of his other work it appears this man is a GENIUS and maybe particularly good at lighter, more comedic stuff.
@oranges Use spoiler tags pls
@Kingsora I loved so much :)
SHOW SPOILER 1. They killed themselves!
SHOW SPOILER 2. Kripke had a cool blaze of glory everyone wants but his douchey self wasn't really in the moment, only the camera was.
SHOW SPOILER 3. Singer just went dooown.
4. ??
A bunch might be pushing it, but I sort of cried a bit during that scene in a very good way :D
This episode was truly 'something else' level- amazing. And I can't get over it!
God may have been involved.
Fantastic episode, always nice to see that Supernatural doesn't take themselves to serious.
I thought it was particulary funny that the creators even killed themselves.
Also check out Misha his twitter: http://twitter.com/mishacollins
He really twittered everything that he did in the episode
Awesome!
This was easily the best episode of the season so far. There have been some good ones, but I know I'll remember this epic and sorely miss supernatural long after it runs it's course.
SHOW SPOILER I got super excited when balthazar turned up, but felt disappointed as they were thrown on -another- tv set. I've no idea why I was so stupid. It was awesome and hilarious.
This review seems to highlight the godlyness: http://www.daemonstv.com/2011/02/25/supernatural-the-french-mistake-review/
Truly epic episode :D :D :D
I'm on a high. No other shows give me a high anymore.
Phew.
