On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day in Chester’s Mill, Maine, the town is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and fall from the sky in flaming wreckage, a gardener’s hand is severed as “the dome” comes down on it, people running errands in the neighboring town are divided from their families, and cars explode on impact. No one can fathom what this barrier is, where it came from, and when—or if—it will go away.
Dale Barbara, Iraq vet and now a short-order cook, finds himself teamed with a few intrepid citizens—town newspaper owner Julia Shumway, a physician’s assistant at the hospital, a select-woman, and three brave kids. Against them stands Big Jim Rennie, a politician who will stop at nothing—even murder—to hold the reins of power, and his son, who is keeping a horrible secret in a dark pantry. But their main adversary is the Dome itself. Because time isn’t just short. It’s running out.

Love this show. I also don't really understand all the hate. But that's probably because i haven't read the book.

The first episode of season two made me unsubscribe. It's just awful.
@DarkReality That isn't a defense of the show, King could have just as easily said "Meh, plenty of books have awful adaptations, doesn't mean the book sucks."
City of Bones is a good example. There is no good damn reason the movie should have been as . . .just BAD as it was. Yeah, the book wasn't good, but jesum crow that movie blew!
I like it to after 2 episodes..
Just finished first season, very interesting tv show, Barbie and Julie are meant to be together<3 D
Can't wait for season2 !
@jonasjossels me neither
liked it, I'm not quite getting the hate vibe...
I love it !
I think it's at least watchable. I love the concept. The book executed it better, but like King said in defense of the show, the book is still unchanged if you want to read the book again. I'm open to a different outcome, and different domes if the show wants to branch out. Definitely read the book if you like the idea but you don't like where the show went. The book was the first ebook I read, and I read it one page at a time on a 3.5" screen. I didn't even realize it was a big book. It just flew by. His newer book, 11/22/63 is just as good, if you want another recommendation.
@davideAwesome I don't think all King's adaptations are bad. For example: Haven :)
@mmroe Do it. The main similarities between the book and the show are: title, character names and the dome ^_^U
The show sucks waaaaaay too hard. But I really want to give the book a try.
Unfollowing this, damn bad TV. But it surely got me interested in the book, I might read it sometime.
one of the worstest show ever
So we saw the cow's guts during the whole season... Change that intro please!
@jeroenvw Unfollow it is :)
@Lemon Don't bother, it's pretty terrible..
So what is the verdict on this show? I started following this one when it was announced. On the fence right now to try it or not.
