From the mind of Aaron Sorkin, creator of The West Wing and screenwriter of The Social Network and Moneyball, comes The Newsroom, a behind-the-scenes look at the people who make a nightly cable-news program. Focusing on a network anchor (played by Jeff Daniels), his new executive producer (Emily Mortimer), the newsroom staff (John Gallagher, Jr., Alison Pill, Thomas Sadoski, Olivia Munn, Dev Patel) and their boss (Sam Waterston), the series tracks their quixotic mission to do the news well in the face of corporate and commercial obstacles-not to mention their own personal entanglements.

Really good show! I can imagine some would have a hard time following though. A large part of the conversation is fast and intellectual, and you're missing out on the importance of it if ur not really into watching the news or following politics. Especially if you're a foreigner watching this. But don't let that scare you :)
This show is shaping up nicely, and while a little heavy handed at times - it's pure fun! I am in love with Aaron Sorkin! :)
Concept reminds me of Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip: http://followmy.tv/shows/17212/Studio_60_on_the_Sunset_Strip
Edit: Oh I see, same creator :p
Awesome show
Love this show, it really comes along nicely, good stuff!
This week's episode was great.
I think they can. It's Aaron Sorkin. If you watched The West Wing, you know that he brought it every single episode for the first 4 seasons. For those who used to watch Law and Order... wasn't it odd seeing Sam Waterston?! And I found it even stranger hearing the word 'fuck' come out of his mouth, lol. HBO is the perfect place for this show.
I hope that they can keep up the show as it was for the first episode, then this is going to be one of the best shows for the off season together with Common Law.
