Seven noble families fight for control of the mythical land of Westeros. Political and sexual intrigue abound. The primary families are the Stark, Lannister, and Baratheon families. Robert Baratheon, King of Westeros, asks his old friend Eddard Stark to serve as his chief advisor. Eddard, suspecting that his predecessor had been murdered, accepts so that he can investigate further. It turns out more than one family is plotting to take the throne. The Queen's family, the Lannisters, may be hatching an incestuous plot to take control. Across the sea, the last surviving members of the previously deposed ruling family, the Targaryens, are also plotting a return to power. The conflict between these families and others, including the Greyjoys, the Tullys, the Arryns, and the Tyrells, leads to war. Meanwhile, in the north, an ancient evil awakens. Amidst war and the political confusion, a brotherhood of misfits, The Night's Watch, is all that stands between the realms of men and the horrors beyond.

I'm watching 1x08 right now and I gotta say, Catelyn's sister still breastfeeding that ugly retarded kid is kinda fucked up.
Anyway, awesome show, really got me hooked.
Wow. I was actually just going to watch the second episode today, but seems I just finished the season. Great show, definately looking forward to season 2.
Natalie Dormer is joining for season 2. She played Anne Boleyn on The Tudors.
Personally, I think this is great news. She was my favorite part of The Tudors and in my opinion her performance for season 2 was one of the most underrated out there. She should have won every award for that season, which she mostly carried alone.

@Gaia Quality > Quantity
@Gaia : The ending of this season is also the ending of book #1
Why such a short season :( I was expecting at least 2 - 3 more eps.
the last episode left me with hunger for more!
Finally started watchting it and I remembered a lot from reading the first book. But DAMN THIS IS AWESOME TV!
Just saw the pilot, and I already feel great potential for the rest of the show.

If they keep up the suspens/story telling, this show will be remembered as one of the best made for television. Keep up the good work HBO
Holy crap, I've begun with liking and appreciating this show, now I'm addicted and oh-so-totally-in-love. It's one of the best things ever.
I'm still shaking after the last episode (and I knew what's going to happen - any help in this case - just whoa).
@Kef If you would like to write a better summary for it, feel free to post it in the comments so we can update it :)
yeah the description should be: Who gives a F! MUST SEE NOW!
Am I the only one that thinks the show description really does not do it justice and actually would make people less-inclined to watch?
@JackHoldem Same here, but I ordered them anyway!
This show is really great. I'm not a big reader, but I consider the books :)
@Geido
Rarely has there ever been a copy of web stream rips available at a quality worth watching. There are simply too few people with the knowledge of how to do it and too few tools to do it well with. Most people looking for something like that are better off waiting for Sunday.
Wich means it's also available by less than legal means...
You can watch episode seven tonight, if you have HBO.

Saw this the other day, but oh so lazy. I'm surprised no one mentioned it.
In short, it is available on HBOGO.com
