The Doctor looks and seems human. He's handsome, witty, and could be mistaken for just another man in the street. But the Doctor is a Time Lord: a 900 year old alien with 2 hearts, part of a gifted civilization who mastered time travel. The Doctor saves planets for a living - more of a hobby actually, and he's very, very good at it. He's saved us from alien menaces and evil from before time began - but just who is he?

I loved 10th from the very first episode. Amy Pond & Rory > 11th. I'm gonna miss Pond, the new companion has been casted: http://www.nme.com/filmandtv/news/doctor-who-names-former-emmerdale-actress-jenna-louise/263424
No-one ever really likes a new doctor. It always takes about half a season until he's loved :p
David Tennant was pretty much the only reason I stuck with this show but I was sold on Matt Smith in his first five minutes.
Alright, changed my mind. A few episodes later, at the end of season 5 I suddenly started to like the new doctor! He's very different, but in a good way.
Yeah... I'm halfway season 5 now, and still don't really like the new doctor. I hope that'll change.
So disapointed by 5th season.
Wow! Xmas special? Crappiest ep ever!

Great article on how Captain Jack Harkness could be coming back, but why The Doctor would never go on Torchwood:

I personally always figured that anyway. Doctor Who has always been a family show, while The Sarah Jane Adventures was a kids show, and Torchwood is only for adults. It is way too racy for The Doctor to make an appearance. I've always said Torchwood is the most American of all the U.K. shows I have seen or even heard of.
Karen Gillan to come back for season(series) 7:

Personally, I love this news. She is great on it and very hot as well. Her personality fits the role perfectly.
Well... Scratch the next year part. The new episodes won't be coming until 2013. I am betting on at least one special, other than the Christmas one, in 2012.

There were rumors that Matt Smith might leave and that the show might go on hiatus again, but they just ordered 14 more episodes for next year.

@Lemon It crosses over with it's spinoffs. The first one, Torchwood, is close to as good as it is and I think starts after series (Or as we call them in America, seasons) 2. I would watch them in order of series release, so that you can keep up with the stories in order.
The other spinoff is The Sarah Jane Adventures. That is more of a children's show, but it is still decent if you want more story and a crossover or two.
Started watching Doctor Who, i'm in season 2 now. Enjoying it so far

This saturday during Comic Relief a special short episode callled Time and Space will be aired. It is written by Steven Moffat and as with all Comic Relief will be pretty funny.
@josbeir Maybe the Crack has been eating away the followers of the show?
