How I Met Your Mother is a comedy about Ted (Josh Radnor) and how he fell in love. When Ted's best friend, Marshall (Jason Segal, Freaks and Geeks), decides to propose to his long-time girlfriend, Lily (Alyson Hannigan, Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Ted realizes that time may be running out on finding the love of his life. His friend Barney (Neil Patrick Harris, Doogie Howser MD) is the anti-Marshall, a guy who thinks he knows everything about meeting women and isn't afraid to tell you.

It´s gonna suck so hard when they reveal who the mother is. It´s impossible to live up to this much build up...
@gio10 you can't watch the episode here, i guess !!
How can i see this episode? xD!
@aniforprez True, but I watch it not for Ted's story, but for Barney's story line :)
@andrejuseu yeah the good times are not becoming very funny anymore. the show is doing exactly what ted is doing to his children: stretching things and trying to prolong the story. it used to be very funny now its just irritating
@aniforprez This is not about mother, it's about group of friends and Ted's memory's about good times :)
ok now they're just dragging it on. i don't think i'll watch this until they tell me who the mother is
Unsure if I'll return next season. Can't believe how bad this show has gotten since S5.
What Dungus said. I personally don't mind if a season has 1 or 2 of these episodes with downer endings but lately it's been like this every damn week.
ah, okay. i've actually noticed quite a bit of those style of endings in a lot of sitcoms these days. it is pretty wack.
@az25 Nah man, this started with Marshall's father dying. It was the first episode to end on a dramatic note without the typical 'last-ten-seconds-joke' or feel-good scene you see in sitcoms. And they keep doing it this season.
To clarify, I absolutely do NOT think it was alright those past times. Stella leaving Ted at the altar was really some of the worst writing I've seen, but at least they didn't cram the season full of that kinda bullshit.
@Dungus I'm sorry, but I can't let this pass. It was alright when Ted got with Robyn at the end of season one, it was ok for the 4 or 5 episodes when Lily left, it was okay when Stella left Ted at the altar, it was ok when Marshall's father died. I'm a little confused as to what you are arguing considering they've been doing those kind of endings for years now.
@Androv Word!
Let's just hope there wont be a ninth season.
This shit is seriously getting out of hand. It's a freakin' sitcom, I don't need House-style endings with soft indie-music and overdramatic writing. IT'S A FREAKIN' SITCOM, WHAT HAPPENED?
noo! if they did that, i'd kill NPH for being a complete moron. i still have faith that the writers will wake up eventually, this is really their first major funk through 145 episodes, so just give peace a chance kids.
@cphn
I love the show but indeed the imagination is gone. I hope they can find it back soon. Or just end the series and start a new one called Barney :p. Would be better than Joey that for sure!
Wow, after this last episode it's 100% safe to say: they ran out of imagination. And there's still talk about renewing it to a ninth season. For the sake of the show, just finish it on season 8 next year.
I really wish 7th season is the last of this show.
This will be the last season that I watch from week to week.
