How I Met Your Mother is a comedy about Ted (Josh Radnor) and how he fell in love. When Ted's best friend, Marshall (Jason Segal, Freaks and Geeks), decides to propose to his long-time girlfriend, Lily (Alyson Hannigan, Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Ted realizes that time may be running out on finding the love of his life. His friend Barney (Neil Patrick Harris, Doogie Howser MD) is the anti-Marshall, a guy who thinks he knows everything about meeting women and isn't afraid to tell you.

@niravg42 Same thing here... I used to love this show, but I got bored in season 8 and I feel like i'm only watching the new episodes to see Ted finally meeting the mother.
We're halfway through season 9 now. I used to love this show and look forward to it every week and now i'm just kind of... I made it this far. Might as well truck it out. 4 stars for the beauty and life lessons the earlier seasons brought me
The pilot of the spin off to the series has been confirmed. How I met your dad, starring a female charachter as lead role. There will be crossovers with the current characters, but none will take an active role.
got bored in season 8, too. But Season 9 is quite ok and different. They´re telling the marriage between Robin and Barney during a whole season. (i think)
@meerareed I agree, I somehow can't convince myself to watch further than season 8 because then it just became ridiculous and annoying.
stopped watching the show at the start of season eight. things weren't the same anymore and it's way too dragged out
I think that the final season will offers something fresh to the show. The entire season set during the weekend away in Farhampton.. I'll be looking out for plenty of continuity errors! ;)
@Uupis ok, i think i'm being way too dagger and fang about this. i'm sorry for being a bit of a douche but i was not just a little angry at how far they're trying to stretch this show. frankly it could have easily ended at the 5th or 6th season. nevertheless, please do continue enjoy it if you do and don't let me ruin your fun!
@aniforprez There is no big deal, at all. I was just poking fun at the fact that he didn't really meet her yet. :)
Of course you shouldn't watch something you don't enjoy.
Personally, I mostly like the characters, and after 8 years under my belt, I'll certainly watch the final season.
@Gonzo13 on the contrary i think that season 8 was the worst season of the show, few funny episodes and too much wasted time with..what? barney and robin don't get married yet! the last episode saved the entire season
@Uupis what's the big deal now? season premiere, he'll meet her, court her the rest of the season or spend it hunting her and finding out who she is etc. the biggest mystery was WHO she was and that's gone. it's not even remotely funny or awesome anymore which is why i'm quitting
Tbh, I really liked Season 8. I guess S6 and S7 were transitions that needed to happen from the sitcom it started out as, to a show with an actual story. Overall this is still one of my favourite shows and I'm looking forward to the last season.
@aniforprez Lol, lighten up, dude.
@aniforprez Well... Ted did not meet her yet, though. At least in the period audience is following the story. :P
@b0sse Seriously? dude, it was bound to happen some time or the other. frankly, with the 4 seasons they put us through after the 4th season, i'm glad this show is finally over. and now i really don't have any reason to watch this any more
AAAAAAAAAAWWWW YEAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!
They finally showed the "mother"
About time, I love this show but its awesomness's dramatically fading...
