The TVRage situation
As you may know: We've been using the TVRage API to get all our data (the airdates, episodes,.. ). Their website has been offline for a week by now, so we're preparing for the worst. At this moment Jelle is developing an alternative. We just wanted to let you know that there is no loss of data (and there won't be). All the existing data are safe in our database.
Please let us know if you have any questions about this.
PS. We'll be replying on the mails we received about becoming a moderator / developer this week. Send us an email at info@followmy.tv if you haven't done so already!
-- Update Saturday 10 October --
I (Jelle) am swamped with work at the moment. Will be for another week probably. I secretly hoped tvrage would have come back online but it seems like it's dead for good.
This means that I have to completely rewrite the importer and figure out how to map existing data to new external data.
This takes a long time because that part of the application was designed for speed and is very complex. It would take me several days to change, optimize and test with live data.
Currently I just have no time at all to do this. I'm working 15h + daily at my regular job to finish a big project before its deadline.
I might be able to start work on this update tomorrow for a couple of hours. But it being finished, tested and deployed will take at least a week or two.
Comments
Thursday now, still no update when you said Sunday or Monday......
@monikabila the calendar page you just linked doesn't fit on my mobile screen (it scrolls horizontally), it takes a lot longer to load with all those images on my limited connection and I have to scroll a lot more compared to tvmaze... Not really sure what you mean by "better".

I think this is much better than TV maze a good looking too.
pls
I've just switched over to TVmaze now as well. Thanks @janp for organising the transfer! That was really awesome of you.
@TomF Pretty much, I switched over to TvMaze for now aswell.
@Grobari That's kinda besides the point though, it wouldn't be so bad if they were communicating but the communication is non existent. They said news on Sunday or Monday, it's now Tuesday with no news in sight. If it got delayed a simple "Sorry guys it's taking longer than expected, going to take a few more days" yesterday would have went a long way.
@Dhaos I recommend TvMaze, they built a handy tool to import your show data from FMTV (read a few pages back in comments), just make sure you change your pass on FMTV temporarily to switch it over :)
already looking for a new site...
it's been over two weeks! this free service you're providing me is NOT working and i'm furious!
seriously tho, thanks for the website but get your shit together
@Saxo Yeah, already using another website in the meantime..
@tomf @kakature it's now tuesday for most people,no update. lol

@jorio Not a problem. Better safe than sorry.
@Flashman Yes, if you have a huge amount of shows, it could be the case that it won't work automatically. If that's the case try asking for help on our forums.

@Jules You need to create a new account on TVMaze first.
When you use the migrate/import tool on their site, just enter your FMTV credentials.
I tried a lot of other tools these past couple of weeks, but nothing comes close to FMTV's dashboard.
Hoping for some positive news today!
@janp I don't understand, I have to log on TVMaze with my FMTV credentials? Because if that's so, it doesn't work.
@Saxo I tried several times, tried refreshing, tried a different browser, to no avail. As you might suspect, I'm not overly keen on manually entering everything.
@Flashman 667 following? you are a mad man. I'm following 95 with some long ones like Simpsons and it was done practically instant. I'd refresh and try again if I were you, hours doesn't sound right.
@janp Thanks for making this. If one were to follow an insane number of shows, would the tool just outright fail to import anything? I've had it running in a window for hours with no progress.
@janp ok thanks for replying. Also thanks for making this for us.Now that you explained it i understand where you are coming from.Sorry for suspecting you,but this is internet and we have to be aware for everything.
